Fall 2025 Message from the Superintendent
Dear OPUSD Families,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer, filled with fun and relaxation. Whether you are returning to our schools or joining the Oak Park Unified community for the first time, we’re excited to begin this new year with you.
Over the summer, our administrators, teachers, and staff have been hard at work, hiring new staff, improving our campuses, and ensuring our schools are safe and welcoming for all. We want every student to feel seen, valued, and engaged in their learning experiences.
Each school year brings the promise of learning and growth. From the eager excitement of our youngest learners starting transitional kindergarten to the focus and drive of our high school seniors preparing for their final year at OPUSD, we are here to support every student.
This year, we will continue to focus on building strong literacy skills in TK–2 classrooms, pilot new English Language Arts materials, expand opportunities for students to learn about sustainable waste management, and continue implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to foster wellness and social-emotional development. At the secondary level, we will strengthen student connectedness and engagement, expand career exploration opportunities, pilot new math instructional materials, and introduce a community service component to our high school programs.
As always, I want to highlight the importance of parent partnership in student success. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference. I encourage you to stay connected through school communications, attend events when you can, and reach out with any questions or ideas.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. On behalf of the Governing Board and OPUSD Leadership Team, we look forward to a year filled with meaningful learning and strong relationships.
Sincerely,
Anais Wenn
