Susan Allen:  OVHS Teacher

 

 

 

 

 

 

In her 15th year at Oak View, Ms. Allen teachers all English classes as well as Consumer Math, Careers, Computers, Yearbook, Stained Glass, and our new ROP class Child Development.  

Ms. Allen worked as a waitress for 7 years to put herself through college, graduating from The Evergreen State College in Washington with a dual major in English and History as well as her teaching credential.  She taught in Washington state and at Paramount USD in California before taking some time to raise her girls Rosie and Sarah.  

 She is a trainer for the Oak Park Inquiry Institute, having take 3 years of professional development in inquiry education and peer coaching.  She is certified in ERWC instruction and completed the Teacher Leadership Institute at VCOE.  She recently earedn her MA in educational psychology through CSUN.  Her graduate project was a curricular unit designed to teach growth mindset to high school students. 

Ms. Allen is our yearbook advisor and newsletter editor.  She serves on the district's Technology Committee and Curriculum Council.  She is also the union representative and chapter secretary.
